POLICE BLOTTER: Montmorency County deputies respond to complaints involving deer, horses, bear

July 12

2:34 p.m.: A two vehicle crash was reported in Briley Township. No injuries were reported. MCSO deputies, Tri Township Fire & EMS all responded to the scene. One vehicle was towed from the scene. All units cleared the scene without incident.

July 13

10:43 a.m.: While on routine patrol, a Deputy came across a vehicle on the side of the road, the Deputy stopped to assist the motorist. The motorist had a tow truck on the way for a flat tire.

10:36 p.m.: Deputies picked up a subject in Albert Township on a warrant; the male subject was transported to Alpena Jail where he was lodged.

July 14

6:42 p.m.: Dispatch received a complaint of four horses loose in Briley Township; An officer responded and contacted the owner. Horses were returned to residence without incident.

9:15 p.m.: A 20-year-old male turned himself in to the MCSO on a local warrant; Subject bonded out with a court date given.

July 15

12:09 a.m.: Deputies responded to a motion alarm in Albert Township. Building was found to be secure.

9:38 p.m.: An Officer assisted in a civil standby in Rust Township and cleared without incident.

July 16

3:08 a.m.: Deputies responded to a single vehicle accident; a vehicle left the roadway after trying to avoid a deer. No one was injured.

11:43 a.m.: A tree across Fleming Rd was reported to dispatch; the Road Commission was advised.

2:50 p.m.: A welfare check was requested on an Albert Township resident; the subject was found to be fine.

9:05 p.m.: An officer responded to a disorderly subject in Albert Township; both parties involved were separated; Deputy cleared without incident.

9:54 p.m.: A Deputy took the report of a vehicle accident involving a bear in Rust Township. The driver was found to be fine, as was the bear.

July 17

11:02 a.m.: An erratic driver was called in to dispatch; a Deputy intercepted the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The Deputy cited the driver for speed.

6:32 p.m.: A call came into the center for an alleged larceny in Albert Township; investigation is ongoing.

11:59 p.m.: A request to do a welfare check on a Hillman Township resident, the subject was found to be fine.

July 18

1:59 a.m.: A Deputy responded to a noise complaint in Hillman Village, the complaint was unfounded.

9:09 a.m.: Multiple calls referencing a male subject impeding traffic in Rust Township were called in to dispatch, a Deputy spoke with the subject regarding this issue.

12:25 p.m.: Divers on Lake Avalon called to report the boats weren’t staying the required distance from their dive flags; MCSO marine patrol along with DNR responded to the lake.

5:21 p.m.: An assault not in progress was called into dispatch, Deputies responded to the scene to take the report.

7:14 p.m.: Lewiston Fire Department responded to a tree hitting a transformer at a residence in Albert Township.

10:05 p.m.: A call came in to the center from Oscoda County dispatch for an erratic driver heading towards Montmorency County; A Deputy intercepted the driver in Avery Township and initiated a traffic stop. The driver was cited.
