One more Presque Isle County resident infected

District Health Department No.1 announced one new positive infection on its website today.

When its daily totals were released, there was a new confirmed infection to a resident of Presque Isle County.

The new infection pushes the total amount of positive tests to Presque Isle residents to 31, of which 24 have recovered.

The numbers in Alpena, Montmorency and Alcona counties were unchanged from Wednesday.

The rolling total of confirmed residents infected in Alpena County remains 129, which has resulted in 14 deaths. Of those infections, 115 are considered recovered.

In Montmorency County there have been 18 confirmed infections, 17 recoveries and zero fatalities.

Alcona also held steady with 42 cases and 32 recoveries. There have been two deaths attributed to the disease.

Statewide there were 2,030 new cases reported today, but some of those cases were supposed to be included in Wednesday’s numbers. It also reported 32 new deaths, but of those 21 were from vital record reviews of people who died previously.

Overall there have been 141,091 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in the state, which have contributed to 6,973 deaths.
