One more Alpena County resident recovers

ALPENA — One more Alpena County resident has recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, public health officials reported today.

That means 100 of the 113 Alpena County residents infected with the disease since the virus first hit Michigan in mid-March have since recovered. As well, 13 of the 17 infected Presque Isle County residents, five of the seven infected Montmorency residents, and 20 of the 24 infected Alcona County residents have recovered.

A total of 161 Northeast Michigan residents have been infected with the coronavirus to date, and 15 people have died while infected with the virus, including 13 Alpena County residents, one Presque Isle County resident, and one Alcona County resident.

The state reported 762 new cases across Michigan and no new deaths today, bringing the total number of cases to 86,191. The total number of deaths remain at 6,247.
