APS plans to hold parent information sessions

Alpena Public Schools’ Interim Superintendent Susan Wooden on Monday announced the district’s preliminary plans to bring students back to school for face-to-face education in the fall following the Center for Disease and Control’s guidelines.

In her weekly communique, Wooden said the district’s goal is to bring elementary students to class each day using the CDC’s guidelines for cohorting and to have face-to-face instruction for secondary students and are “designing a schedule to allow for that.”

A number of parent information sessions, where parents will be able to provide feedback, are planned as follows:

∫ from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. July 27 at Wilson Elementary School

∫ from 5:30 to 6::30 p.m. July 28 at the Thunder Bay Junior High School’s cafetorium

∫ from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. July 29 at Alpena High School

∫ from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. July 30 at Besser Elementary School

∫ from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Aug. 3 in the Alpena High School auditorium

∫ from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 3 at Sanborn Elementary School

∫ from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 4 at Lincoln Elementary School

∫ from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 5 at Hinks Elementary School

∫ from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 6 at Ella White Elementary School

∫ from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 6 at ACES Academy

District officials are also planning to stream the meeting electronically.
