RC to open parks with restrictions

ROGERS CITY — Rogers City Officials have relaxed the rules for residents wishing to use city parks.

Residents are now able to use playground equipment, have baseball practice and utilize the basketball and tennis facilities, although some restrictions still apply.

City Manager Joe Hefele noted while the playgrounds are open, city staff is not sanitizing the playground equipment at this time. Additionally, no more than 10 people can utilize the ball fields at a time and social distancing must be maintained. The basketball courts can be used to shoot hoops or play games of “Horse,” he said.

Baseball and basketball games are not yet allowed.

“We are asking the users of all of our facilities to please follow these rules, as we do not want to have to close down these facilities to the public once again, but will have no choice to do so if these rules are ignored,” Hefele said in a statement.
