Rogers City youth play a pickup hockey game at the town’s outdoor skating rink. Open on weekends and after school on weekdays, the rink at “The Hole” is a favorite ­– and free — town tradition. The local baseball field is flooded by the city when it’s cold enough to freeze, and a warming shack staffed by friendly teenagers offers free loaner ice skates and skating frames for wobbly ones.
