Rotary gives to riverside park project

Alpena Rotary Club President Check Sherwin signs his name on a large check that was presented to the Friends of the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary to be used toward the proposed Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Waterfront Park. The group needs to raise a little more than $400,000 in order to secure a state grant for nearly $4 million to have the park built along the Thunder Bay River, near the Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center on Fletcher Street.
