Nov. 9

3:15 p.m.: When troopers responded to a vehicle in the ditch, the driver, 34-year-old Andrew Hoffmeyer of Millersburg, was combative with officers, who tased him several times with no results. Troopers reported Hoffmeyer tried to grab their firearms. He was transported to MidMichigan Medical Center-Alpena for medical mental health evaluation. Upon being cleared by medical staff, he was lodged in the Presque Isle County jail, arraigned under a four-count felony warrant, with a $50,000 cash bond.

Nov. 14

4 a.m.: A 36-year-old man was arrested in Metz Township after he shot a buck on private property. After being trapped by police in a field, the man was charged with illegal possession of game and fleeing and eluding police.

Nov. 15

2 p.m.: A one-car crash on U.S.-23 at 40 Mile Point Road caused minor injuries to the 35-year-old driver, who refused medical treatment.

Nov. 16

9 a.m.: A vehicle slid on ice into a ditch. The driver, 86, was unhurt.

12:30 p.m. A vehicle slid off the road and into a utility pole in Ocqueoc Township. The 16-year-old driver was cited for speeding.

9 p.m.: A caller reported three shots fired near her horses in Ocqueoc Township. The incident is under investigation.

Nov. 17

4 p.m.: A complainant reported his mother and grandmother assaulted him in the parking lot of an Onaway grocery store. The case has been submitted to the prosecutor for review.

Nov. 18

5 p.m.: A North Allis Township resident reported missing horse tack. The case is under investigation.

Nov. 19

7 a.m.: A vehicle slid off the road and hit a tree in Belknap Township. The driver received minor injuries but refused medical treatment.
