Man charged with meth possession
On Nov. 9, troopers from the Michigan State Police-Alpena Post conducted a traffic stop on French Road near Webster Road for an equipment violation, police said in a news release. The driver, 26-year-old Trenton Agar, of Alpena, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
A search of the vehicle was conducted, and troopers located an orange prescription bottle containing a white crystal substance.
Agar appeared in the 88th District Court in Alpena on Thursday and was arraigned for one count possession of methamphetamine, a felony punishable by 10 years and/or $15,000 fine.
He is being held in the Alpena County Jail on a $50,000 cash surety bond, and is scheduled for a probable cause conference at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 25. The 21-year-old female passenger was not charged.
A field test of the substance tested positive for methamphetamine, and an arrest warrant was sought.
