Sept. 9

8:10 a.m.: An employee of the Montmorency County Road Commission called to request an officer meet him at the Lewiston Substation to look at some destruction of property that occurred over the weekend by someone on a four-wheeler. Camera footage was reviewed, the investigation is ongoing.

1:05 p.m.: A Hillman resident called to report a PD accident in Hillman Township, no injuries were reported.

2:05 p.m.: A resident of Crawford County was sentenced to service 6 months on a previous OWI in Montmorency County, subject was lodged at MCSO jail.

5:43 p.m.: Dispatch received a report of a woman’s wallet being found on Townline Rd with drug paraphernalia in it. A deputy picked it up and it was disposed of.

6:23 p.m.: A deputy responded to a report of a 4-wheelers racing on River Rd in Briley Township. Officer was unable to find 4-wheelers.

Sept. 10

10:07 a.m.: A concerned friend requested a welfare check on a Briley Township resident, an officer spoke with subject. She was fine, just away from her phone. Concerned friend was advised.

4:13 p.m.: Hillman Fire/EMS and a deputy responded to a vehicle fire on M-32. The fire was out when units arrived.

6:52 p.m.: An MSP Trooper and a deputy did a welfare check on a male in Albert Township that did not show up for his doctor appointment that day. Subject was found to be fine.

Sept. 11

4:41 a.m.: Dispatch was advised of a commercial burglar alarm on Co Rd 489 in Albert Township. Deputies responded to investigate, and the key holder met them on scene. Everything was found to be OK.

1:31 p.m.: Dispatch was notified of a residential burglar alarm on Poulsen Rd in Briley Township. A deputy responded and found everything to be okay. Alarm was tripped by a package that was dropped off and set against the door.

2:31 p.m.: MCSO was advised of an erratic driver on M-32 near Jerome St in Briley Township. A deputy was unable to locate the vehicle described.

Sept. 12

12:01 a.m.: MCSO deputies responded to a domestic dispute on M-32 in Briley Township. Deputies responded to investigate the situation. The parties were separated for the night.

4:01 p.m.: A deputy initiated a routine traffic stop on Co Rd 487 near M-32 in Briley Township. A 40-year-old male was taken into custody for driving with a revoked license. He was lodged.

5:02 p.m.: A deputy responded to a residence on Harwood Rd that looked like the door was open and nobody there. A deputy responded and found everything looked to be okay. The door was secured.

Sept. 13

12:03 a.m.: MCSO was requested to do a welfare check on Albert Township resident. MCSO deputy responded and found party in in good health.

4:45 a.m.: Briley Township on Thornton Rd report of 2 ponies out on the road. MSCO Deputies responded and ponies were returned to the fenced field.

7:01 a.m.: Car/deer accident reported on CO RD 487 near CO RD 489. MCSO deputies responded and no injuries were reported.

8:33 a.m.: Report of a tree that has fallen on CO RD 612 near the four corners in Lewiston. Montmorency County Road Commission responded and tree was removed.

12:34 p.m.: A traffic stop was made on CO RD 491 by the Michigan DNR. A 28 year old male from Lewiston was arrested and jailed on an outstanding warrant from the MCSO.

12:42 p.m.: A report came into MCSO dispatch of a male and female arguing on M-32 near the TBCH clinic. A MCSO deputy responded to the location and both parties were separated.

8:47 p.m.: A report of a dog at large in Village of Hillman. Dog was brought to MCSO by private party and housed at the Elk County Animal Shelter for evaluation.

8:53 p.m.: A report was made to MCSO that active fight behind the Lucky D’s Bar in Atlanta. MSCO deputies responded and verbal warning for trespassing was given to male subject.

9:00 p.m.: A report of car/deer accident on M32 near McSwain. MCSO deputies responded and no injuries were reported.

Sept. 14

2:27 a.m.: Traffic stop made by MCSO deputy resulted in arrest of one male subject for DWI.

8:40 a.m.: Car/deer accident was reported CO RD 628 near Machabo Trail. MCSO Deputies responded and no injuries were reported.

2:33 p.m.: A brown/white pit bull mix dog was found in Lewiston. A MCSO deputy responded, and the dog has been housed at Elk County Animal Shelter.

2:38 p.m.: Dispatch received a report of a large brush fire on Canada Creek Ranch. Tri Township Fire, Albert Township Fire, Canada Creek Ranch Fire, Hillman Fire, Vienna Township Fire, Michigan DNR, Tri Township EMS and MCSO Deputies responded. The fire was extinguished, and no injuries were reported.

7:30 p.m.: Traffic stop was made Manier Rd by MCSO deputy. Arrest was made of one male subject for driving with revoked license.

Sept. 15

10:20 a.m.: A call came into MCSO reporting a Blue Heron with broken wing. Michigan DNR responded.

10:05 p.m.: MCSO deputy completed warrant arrest one male subject was taken into custody.

Sept. 16

12:02 a.m.: A report of a chimney fire in Rust Township. Hillman EMS/Fire and MCSO deputies responded. Fire was extinguished and no injuries were reported.

2:15 a.m.: A report of Semi-truck vs Elk on M32 west near Kellyville Rd. Tri Township Fire/EMS and MCSO deputies responded. Unable to locate the elk and no injuries were reported.
