A Herron man was killed in a crash on U.S.-31 North in Grand Traverse County on Tuesday.

Douglas Lee Dowling was the only person killed in a multiple-vehicle crash, the Traverse City Record-Eagle reported Friday. Three others were injured.

The crash occurred at 12:56 p.m. Tuesday when the driver of a Honda CR-V pulled out of Doug Murdick’s Fudge parking lot between Holiday Road and Five Mile Road in Traverse City and hit a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The Jeep then collided with a Buick LaSabre Dowling was in as a passenger.

Grand Traverse Sheriff’s Department Capt. Chris Clark told the Record-Eagle on Friday that a formal report was still being completed.
