Former scholarship recipients Alayna Nugent, Ivy Kokozska, and Brendan Fleishans spoke at the Northeast Michigan Community Foundation’s Summer Scholarship Celebration on Thursday. An elegant evening of food, music, and white rope lighting at Art in the Loft acknowledged the generosity of the foundation’s many philanthropists who made possible the $443,980 awarded in scholarships in 2019. The former recipients spoke of the impact of the foundation members who believed in them, offering financial assistance that inspired each of the young people to give of themselves to their community.
