Person of interest questioned after shots fired in Alpena

ALPENA — Police said one person of interest was interviewed after a report of shots fired near Decorative Panels Inc. tonight.

Alpena Police Chief Joel Jett said police received a call of possible shots fired in the area near DPI off of Ford Avenue. He said officers responded moments later and contacted several DPI workers who were on the roof doing maintenance work.

”Nobody was injured during this incident,” Jett said. ”There’s not an active shooter.”

Jett said there were leads coming in Sunday night that they were sorting through.

Michigan State Police, Alpena City Police, and Alpena City Fire were all at the scene.
