Man gets 30 years in sex assault case

A Rogers City man, originally charged with 12 counts of sexual abuse, was sentenced to prison Monday after pleading guilty to two counts of criminal sexual conduct against a person younger than 13 and one count of possession of child sexually abusive material.

Judge Aaron Gauthier of the 53rd Circuit Court sentenced Shawn Elowsky, arraigned in the 89th District Court in November 2018, to serve 30 to 50 years in state prison, accompanied by mandatory lifetime sex offender registry.
