This photo, provided by the Cooperative Alpena-Area Christian Homeschoolers (COACH), shows the group’s Science Olympiad team at the State Science Olympiad Championships Saturday in East Lansing.

The team finished in 30th place, overall, out of 60 teams. Team members Mark Collins and Louis deMarrais took first place in the Road Scholar event, Collins and John Short finished fourth in the Thermodynamics event, deMarrais and John Short took finished ninth in the Fossils event, Giuliana Balog and Liam Ryan finished 10th in the Write It Do It event, Kayla Faircloth and John Short finished 12th in the Mystery Architecture event, Collins and Ryan finished 16th in the Circuit Lab event, and John Short and Kara Short finished in the 18th in the Meteorology event.
