Six new graduates from the Michigan State Police’s 135th Trooper Recruit School have begun work at the Alpena Post. The troopers completed 28 weeks of training at the academy and will spend 17 additional weeks working under the supervision of a field training officer on both complaint and patrol work.

The new troopers will cover 3,027 square miles of the Alpena Post’s jurisdiction, which includes Alpena, Alcona, Montmorency, Oscoda and Presque Isle counties.
