State Rep. Sue Allor, R-Wolverine, left, presents a flag which was flown over the state Capitol to Dave Elder, whose photo won a contest and will be used on the cover of the upcoming edition of the Alpena County directory. The public selected its favorite photo, which featured Alpena’s Avenue of Flags. County Clerk Bonnie Friedrichs and Kim Schultz were also on-hand for the flag presentation. The Alpena Booster Club and Kiwanis Club team up to do the popular flag project.
