Alcona Health Center gets state, federal honors

State and federal officials honored the Alcona Health Center for 40 years of service during a recent reception in Cheboygan.

State Sen. Wayne Schmidt, Brandon Fewins of U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow’s office, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services deputy director Matt Lori, and Jen Anderson of the Michigan Primary Care Association were among the speakers, according to a news release from the center. The center received a Certificate of Congressional Recognition from Stabenow’s office, a letter from Gov. Rick Snyder, and an Achievement Award from the Primary Care Association.

“What an honor it is to be recognized in this manner for our 40th Anniversary,” Alcona Health Center CEO Nancy Spencer said in a statement
