Alpena Township Firefighters work to extinguish a house fire on US-23 North Tuesday afternoon. Michigan State Police closed the northbound lane of the highway until the fire was out and the scene secure. The home was heavily damaged and everyone at home at the time was uninjured. It is believed the fire started in the living room and the incident is still under investigation.
