MyMichigan Health Foundation has launched its annual holiday giving programs, offering community members meaningful ways to honor loved ones while supporting vital care, equipment, and patient services across MyMichigan Health. This year’s campaigns, including Stars in the Garden, Love Light Trees, as well as Year-End Giving, invite donors to make gifts in recognition or memory of friends, family members, or caregivers who have made a difference in their lives. One hundred percent of every donation stays local to enhance care for patients in the donor’s community.
“Our holiday giving programs are a beautiful blend of gratitude and generosity,” said Denise O’Keefe, executive director, MyMichigan Health Foundation. “Every gift made in honor or memory of someone special directly supports the comfort, healing, and well-being of patients right here at home.”
The holiday initiatives offer the community a heartfelt way to give back while cherishing the memories of those who matter most. Love Light Trees, showcased at MyMichigan Medical Centers, will glow with lights, each representing a gift made in celebration or remembrance. Year-End Giving provides donors with the meaningful opportunity to make a tax-deductible gift by December 31, allowing them to support a program, service line, or MyMichigan Medical Center that holds personal significance to them. Finally, Stars in the Gardens presents a serene display at Dow Gardens, where each star symbolizes a tribute gift made during the season to honor loved ones. A contribution of $25 or more made to Stars in the Gardens entitles individuals to honor friends and family, living and deceased with a beautiful handcrafted porcelain ornament. Proceeds from Stars in the Gardens benefit MyMichigan Home Care and MyMichigan Hospice including Woodland Hospice House and their patients, while providing recognition and honor to loved ones. The Dow Gardens Christmas Walk is held Dec. 3-6 and 10-13.
“These programs offer a touching way for people to share appreciation, remember loved ones, and support exceptional care within their own community,” added O’Keefe.
Participation is available in any of the campaigns by visiting the Holiday Giving Page. Donors can also choose to have a holiday letter mailed to the individual or family being honored.
