Structure fire occurred Wednesday on Lockwood Street
News Photo by Kayla Wikaryasz On Wednesday, fire fighters are seen responding to a structure fire that occurred on Lockwood Street in Alpena. According to the Alpena City Fire Department, no injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
The Alpena Fire Department was requested to 716 Lockwood Street for a structure fire at 7:34 p.m. on Wednesday, according to a press release on . Upon arrival, command reported smoke and flames visible from the residence and a full department call-in was initiated for all off-duty personnel.
Fire crews made a quick entry and quickly extinguished the fire, confining it to the room of origin, reducing the damage to the residence which was a multi-family apartment.
Fire crews remained on scene for approximately an hour and no injuries were reported.
The fire remains under investigation.
Alpena Fire Department initially responded with seven on-duty personnel, the Chief and Deputy Chief, and additional nine off-duty and four auxiliary personnel. A total of 22 personnel were at the scene.
Alpena Police Department, Alpena Central Dispatch, DTE Energy, and Alpena Power Company assisted.
