John and Virginia McLarty of 426 Mirre, Alpena, will celebrate their 72nd wedding anniversary with a family gathering over the summer.

Mr. McLarty and the former Virginia Muellerweiss were married May 30, 1941, in Detroit. Their children are John McLarty of Correlville, Iowa and Susan (David) Barrett of Alpena. They have six grandchildren: Donii Fox of New Mexico, Meredith Day of Arizona, Deanna Silver of Alpena, Charles Barrett of Florida, Janet McLarty-Schroder of California and Jennifer Daly of Illinois. They also have 13 great-grandchildren: Mac, Reilly, Mason, Dylan, Peyton, Temeika, Brooke, Sydney, Samantha, Jesseman, Conlin, Aidan and Nora.

John is retired from Real Estate Development, and Virginia is a retired bookkeeper for the A&P Store.
