ALPENA — The Alpena 1327 Detachment of the Marine Corps League and the VFW Auxiliary of Post 2496 recently met with Dave Hornick, Alpena representative for Tunnel to Towers. The two groups presented checks in support of the work being done by the Tunnel to Towers organization.

The Tunnel to Towers 5K will be held on Saturday, Sept. 6 in Alpena.

“Born from the tragedy of 9/11, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation carries forward a legacy of courage and heroism,” the Tunnel to Towers website explains. “Built upon the mantra, ‘While we have time, LET US DO GOOD,’ the Foundation supports our nation’s fallen and catastrophically injured first responders, military heroes, and their families.”
