LWV Lunch Bunch meets at noon today

ALPENA — The League of Women Voters of Northeast Michigan invites anyone interested to Lunch Bunch, an informal monthly lunch discussion of current issues and other topics of interest. Monday is deadline to register for parade

ALPENA — The deadline to register for this year’s Bolenz Jewelry Holiday Parade is 5 p.m. Monday.

The parade begins at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 25. Starting at the Annex building parking lot at the corner of Chisholm Street and 9th Avenue, the parade will travel down Chisholm, turn left onto 2nd Avenue, right onto Water Street, and will end in the parking lot behind City Hall.

Registration forms are available at the Chamber office at 235 W. Chisholm St. or at www.alpenachamber.com. Completed forms must be turned in by 5 p.m. on Monday. Late registrations will not be accepted. Entries without registration will not be allowed in the parade.

Entries should reflect a Christmas/holiday idea, but from there, let your imagination take over. Entries will be judged on originality, overall appearance, and lighting effort extended. Holiday music is highly encouraged.

Winners will be announced via social media that evening and in the press on Saturday, Nov. 26. Entries will compete for trophies and cash prizes in both categories, commercial and non-commercial. The first, second, and third place winners in each category will receive the following cash prizes: 1st — $200; 2nd — $150; and 3rd — $100.

If you have questions, contact the Alpena Area Chamber of Commerce at 989-354-4181.
