Holiday parade entries being accepted now

Planning has begun for this year’s Bolenz Jewelry Holiday Parade and registration forms are now being accepted. The parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 26. Starting at the Annex building parking lot at the corner of Chisholm Street and 9th Avenue, the parade will travel down Chisholm, turn left onto 2nd Avenue, right onto Water Street, and will end in the parking lot behind City Hall.

Entries should reflect Christmas/holiday ideas, but from there, let your imagination take over. Entries will be judged on originality, overall appearance, and lighting effort extended. Holiday music is highly encouraged.

Registration forms are available at the chamber office at 235 W. Chisholm St. or at www.alpenachamber.com. Completed forms must be turned in by 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 22. Late registrations will not be accepted. Entries without registration will not be allowed in the parade.

Winners will be announced via social media that evening and in the press on Saturday, Nov. 27. Entrants will compete for trophies and cash prizes in both categories, Commercial and Non-Commercial (1st — $200; 2nd — $150; 3rd — $100). Contact the chamber at 989-354-4181.
