Pasta with a purpose

Onaway Historical Museum invites the community to join them for a spaghetti dinner with all the fixings, a fundraiser to fix up the former Lobdell/American Wood Rim Company building. The spaghetti dinner will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s Hall, Onaway. The cost is by donation.

Lions meet Tuesdays

The Alpena Lions Club hosts their weekly meetings at noon on Tuesdays in the second-floor fellowship hall at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Alpena. Those seeking more information about the Alpena Lions Club may visit the website at alpenalionsclub.com or on Facebook.

Friends Together group time changes

Some Friends Together support groups have changed their meeting times for the fall/winter.

Women on Wednesdays is a cancer support group for women only that now meets at 4:30 p.m. each Wednesday. Call 989-356-3231 for location information.

Living with Loss Support Group now meets at 5 p.m. each Thursday at Friends Together. This group is designed for those journeying through grief after the loss of a loved one. Grief is overwhelming; you are not alone. Join others who understand and are also coping with the loss of a loved one. Come meet others on a similar journey. Feel free to bring a friend or family member.

Good Mid-Day Alpena

The Alpena Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Good Mid-Day Alpena lunch on Thursday, Oct. 14, at the Alpena Public Safety Facility, 501 W. Chisholm St. Lunch will begin at 11:30 a.m. with the program from noon to 1 p.m. The title is “All About Alpena” sponsored by Edward Jones of Alpena. Attendees will compete in gameshow trivia with questions about Alpena. Multiple winners will take home a Thunder Bay Resort Elk Viewing Package that includes a horse drawn carriage ride, dinner, and wine tasting for two. There will be door prizes and table gifts. The cost is $10 per person and advanced registration is required to info@alpenachamber.com or 989-354-4181.

Flu clinic Oct. 15

District 4 Health Department will host a drive-thru flu clinic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 15. Appointments are preferred by calling 1-800-221-0294. Wear a short-sleeve shirt and do not bring dogs. Insurance can be billed, or patient pay cost is $30.
