VFW pulled pork dinner Friday, May 7

VFW Post #2496 is having a pulled pork dinner on Friday, May 7. Dinner will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. at 2900 Connon St., Alpena. The menu will be pulled pork, potato salad, chips and a dessert for $9 per adult. Children 10 and under will be $5.

Tickets can be purchased ahead of the date by dropping by the VFW or pre-order by calling 989-354-8021. If no one answers, leave your order on the voicemail.

Kiwanis Club prayer breakfast May 6

The Kiwanis Club’s annual prayer breakfast is scheduled for Thursday, May 6 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Doors open at 6:30 a.m. and the breakfast starts at 7 a.m.

Dr. James Wolf will be the speaker. This event honors the National Day of Prayer.

Tickets are $10, available at the Alpena Senior Citizens Center, State Farm at 144 S. Ripley Blvd., or Immanuel Lutheran Church.

A limited amount of tickets will be available at the door for $12 each.
