Erickson to be honored for GLLMM service

A special presentation and brief ceremony for David Erickson will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday at Orchard Manor, 5555 E. Metz Hwy. in Posen, where Erickson now resides.

Erickson, a survivor of the Cedarville shipwreck, was the dedicated director of the Great Lakes Lore Maritime Museum in Rogers City for over 15 years. He retired from his position last year. The GLLMM Board of Directors, and his wife Sally, will be presenting him with a lifetime induction into the museum.

Free Earth Day activity kits

Register today for an Earth Day Activity Kit, which includes a DIY faux stained-glass craft, reusable gloves for picking up trash, information, and resources about Earth Day and ways to get involved, and a bookmark with related book recommendations. This kit is appropriate for all ages, but supplies are limited. One kit is allowed per household; first come, first served. Register at https://forms.gle/72gDritzkRjhG9879.

Bridge winners announced

Alpena Duplicate Bridge Club winners for this week have been announced.

Marge French and Audrey Stevens placed first, and Connie Middleditch and Loretta Reynolds came in second. A tie for third went to the teams of Carolyn Belton and Judy Vivian and Bev Rousseau and Marcy Sherman.
