Members of Alpha Xi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, a national honor society of women educators, recently gathered at the home of Midge Connon to package a thank you gift for educators, secretaries, instructional assistants, custodians and bus drivers for their services as we face the coronavirus pandemic.

Apples were purchased from Kipfmiller’s Produce, placed in a paper bag with a special printed note of appreciation attached. These bags were then boxed and taken to the public and parochial schools in Alpena, Montmorency and Presque Isle Counties and Alpena Community College. There were enough apples to share with the Boys and Girls Club, Alpena Senior Citizens and the St. Bernard Friendship Room.

Coordinating the event were Midge Connon and Pauline Buchner. Members who assisted in packaging and delivering the apples included Ruth Follbaum, Ann Hardesty, Carol Kindt, Sandy Kindt, Julie Kowalski, Joy Shoemaker, Beckie Thomson and Julie Usher.
