Alcona library announces November events

HARRISVILLE — Alcona County Library in Harrisville is planning November events. For more information about any of these events, call the library at 989-724-6796.

On Tuesdays, Nov. 3 and 17, Knitting Klub & Crochet will meet from 1:15 to 3:15 p.m. at the Harrisville branch of the Alcona County Library. All ages and levels are welcome.

On Thursdays, Nov. 5, 12 and 19, Community Walking Club for Everyone will meet at 9 a.m. in the parking lot of the Harrisville branch of the Alcona County Library. Social distancing will be practiced and face masks will be required.

On Tuesday, Nov. 11, Alcona County Library and all of its branches will be closed to observe Veteran’s Day.

On Friday, Nov. 13, Storytime and craft for children will be at 10:30 a.m. at the Harrisville branch of the Alcona County Library. Social distancing will be practiced and seating is limited.

On Tuesday, Nov. 17, The Alcona Book Club will meet from noon to 1 p.m. at the Harrisville branch of the Alcona County Library. The selection for November is “The Hate U Give,” by Angie Thomas.

On Wednesday, Nov. 18, it’s String Art Teen Grab N Go! Choose from one of four patterns at the Alcona County Library in Harrisville. Available while supplies last.

On Wednesday, Nov. 18, The Alcona County Library Board will meet in person, via Zoom, and Facebook Live at 2 p.m. at the Harrisville branch. The link will be posted on the library’s website (http://www.alcona.lib.mi.us) and Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/AlconaLibrary).

On Monday, Nov. 23 is Craftomania for Adults! Starting at 1:30 p.m., create a marvelous Macrame Feather Wall Decoration at the Harrisville branch of the Alcona County Library. This program is brought to you by a grant from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs. Social distancing will be practiced. Sign-up is required and seating is limited. Call 989-724-6796 to register.

On Thursday, Nov. 26, The Alcona County Library and all of its branches will be closed for Thanksgiving.

On Friday, Nov. 27, all Alcona library branches will be closed in continued observance of the holiday.
