AAACU highlights donations

Through the hard work and dedication of its employees and the generosity of its membership, Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union recently donated to Tri-Township Fire Department, Sunrise Mission, Iosco County Coats for Kids, and Carol’s Baby Basket.

AAACU raised $3376.34 in monetary donations to Tri-Township Fire Department located in Atlanta. The Tri-TownshipFire Department works to ensure community members are safe and will utilize the donation to purchase new equipment to better serve the community.

Along with member donations, the AAACU Atlanta Branch team members sold candy bars, held various raffles, and donated $2 per employee to dress down on Fridays to help raise funds for the Tri-Township Fire Department.

AAACU raised $300 in monetary donations to the Sunrise Mission. The Sunrise Mission provides shelter, meals, clothing, support, and counseling to those in need within the community.

Along with member donations, the credit union’s Ossineke Branch team members sold candy bars, held various raffles, and donated $2 per employee to dress down on Fridays to help raise funds for The Sunrise Mission.

AAACU raised $359.84 in monetary donations to Iosco County Coats for Kids. Coats for Kids is a nonprofit organization established in 1995 with a mission to provide children throughout Iosco County with a warm coat during the cold winter months. In 2016, they expanded the program to include shoes and boots to children in need throughout Iosco County.

Along with member donations, the credit union’s Tawas Branch team members sold candy bars, held various raffles, and donated $2 per employee to dress down on Fridays to help raise funds for Iosco County Coats for Kids.

AAACU raised $359.846 in monetary donations for Carol’s Baby Basket. Carol’s Baby Basket located in Oscoda started in 2002 to assist parents in raising healthy children by providing education, intervention, support, and material necessities to families throughout the Oscoda community.

Along with member donations, AAACU’s Oscoda Branch team members sold candy bars, held various raffles, and donated $2 per employee to dress down on Fridays to help raise funds for Carol’s Baby Basket.

Membership is available to individuals that reside, work, own property, attend school, or worship in the state of Michigan. AAACU has 9 locations: two in Alpena including the main branch, Atlanta, Ossineke, Tawas, Lincoln, a Tiger Branch in Alcona Community Schools, Oscoda, and the Owl’s Nest in Oscoda Area Schools. As of April 30, 2020, AAACU provides service to 29,798 members with total assets equal to $399,561,502.
