From 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, join Chef Reid Krebs as he walks you through the techniques for making home-style Ramen at Art in the Loft. In this interactive hands-on class, learn how to build the soup base, perfectly cook and season soft-boiled eggs and other toppings, prepare noodles properly and present a beautiful bowl.

This class is $45 per person, ages 16 and up. Scholarships are available. Register online at www.artintheloft.org/culinary-art.

Lasagna dinner fundraiser for Relay for Life

Orders are being taken for the Northeast Michigan Relay for Life lasagna dinner fundraiser. For $25 per dinner, you get a frozen three-cheese and meat lasagna, corn, loaf of Connie’s Cafe homemade bread and six cookies. Each dinner feeds six people.

Orders must be placed by noon on Monday, and dinners will be ready on March 11. To place an order, call Bonnie at 989-356-1861, or message her at 989-590-3843.

This is a group fundraiser, so all the Relay for Life teams are involved.

Basket Guild meeting tonight

Thunder Bay Basket Guild meets from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight at First United Methodist Church, 167 S. Ripley Blvd. in Alpena.

Grace monthly dinner Friday

Grace Episcopal Church’s monthly dinner is 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, with homemade soups and make-your-own sandwiches, homemade pies and desserts. Cost is by donation, at 13488 Long Rapids Road in Lachine.

Ice skating Friday, Sunday

Glow ice skating is from 7 to 8:50 p.m. Friday at Northern Lights Arena, for $5 per person. Then from 3:30 to 5:20 p.m. on Sunday, free ice skating is offered, sponsored by the Alpena County Youth & Recreation Millage. NLA is at 751 Woodward Ave.

Free movie night March 7

A free family movie night will be at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, at Lincoln United Methodist Church, 101 Main St., Lincoln. The public is invited to come watch “Dolphin Tale.” Free popcorn will be available.

Community Lenten Service on Wednesday

A Community Lenten Worship Service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at First Congregational United Church of Christ. A soup supper will preced the service at 6 p.m., and all are welcome.

Father Joseph Muszkiewicz of All Saints Catholic Parish will preach on “Jesus’ Passion for Love.”

The church is located at 201 S. 2nd Ave., Alpena.

Other participating churches include St. Paul Lutheran, Grace Lutheran, First United Methodist, First Presbyterian, and Trinity Episcopal.
