Society meeting Jan. 11

Thunder Bay Folk Society will be holding its annual meeting from 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11, at the Alpena Eagles Club, 1960 M-32 West.

The purpose of the meeting is for the members to hear a brief summary of the nonprofit corporation’s year, a treasurer’s report, and to hold the elections for four new board members. Three board members are needed for three-year terms, and one board member is needed for a two-year term. You must be a current member to vote. Memberships and renewals are available at the door for $10 per year.

The business meeting will start at 3 p.m. and last about 30 minutes. At 3:30 the group will have an open mic event and potluck until 6 p.m. This is a great chance for members to play some music, socialize and discuss the 2020 Thunder Bay Folk Fest.

Anyone interested in a board position is encouraged to email Mark Addington at maaddington1@gmail.com. Bringing a potluck item is not necessary, but welcomed. If you plan to bring something, please go to signupgenius.com and search for the event so there are not too many duplicate items.
