Friends Together offers new teen support group
Friends Together is offering a new program for junior and senior high students who are having a cancer experience with family or friends. One of the most frequent questions Friends Together staff members hear is, “What do I tell my kids — how do I talk to them about cancer?”
Teens are welcome to join in a new support group every Monday, beginning Feb. 3, in the large gathering room. Doors open at 3 p.m. and leaders anticipate the program will last approximately 90 minutes. Food and fun can be expected at this confidential program.
Teen leaders are Marsha Hoppe and Billie Jo Foster — both mothers who have both had a personal cancer experience. They come to Friends Together with a combined 20 years working with youth.
