38th Annual Kubbe Family Reunion held in Harrisville

The 38th Annual Kubbe Family Reunion was held on Saturday, July 27, at Harrisville State Park in Harrisville.

A business meeting was called to order by President Jeff Kosloski at 12:35 p.m.

Kathy Reincke read the minutes and treasurer’s report of the 37th reunion. Peggy Kosloski made a motion to accept the minutes as written, seconded by Carolyn Kosloski; motion carried.

Bert Gilmore made a motion to hold a free reunion in 2020 (no dues) based on the amount of money in the treasury; motion denied. Shelley Gardner made a motion to use the money for something special for the 40th reunion in 2021, with the hosting family deciding how to celebrate; motion carried.

Old business

Reunion Host Schedule — The family groups were reviewed and individuals were asked to talk to Kathy Reincke if their family was not included in the groups that rotate hosting the reunion. The groups are as follows:

¯ Lena, Adeline, Martha (Emily) and Iverna Rizzi’s families

¯ Reinhold (Norman, Harry and Lucille), Milo and Julius Schepke’s families

¯ Alma’s family

¯ Olga’s family

New business

Oldest and Youngest — The oldest attending this year’s reunion is Betty Dailey (89 years) and the youngest is Mya Gardner (14 months), daughter of Keith and Adrea Gardner, granddaughter of Dave and Shelley Gardner.

2020 Reunion — Next year’s reunion will be on Saturday, July 25, 2020. It will be hosted by Reinhold Kubbe (Norman, Harry and Lucille), Milo Kubbe, and Julius Schepke’s families.

Moment of Silence — A moment of silence was held in memory of Leo Kosloski, Diane Kajcienski, Iverna Rizzi, Bev Kosloski, and Terry Golder.

New Members — Babies born this past year:

¯ Kora Graham on May 6, daughter of Kate Reincke and Jasper Graham, granddaughter of Kathy and Jon Reincke.

¯ Baker Trentham on May 13, son of Ben and Jessica Trentham, grandson of Kathy and Jon Reincke.

Marriages:

¯ Amber and Joshua Grant

First-Time Attendees:

¯ Violet, friend of Alissa Martin

¯ Josh and Meredith Kosloski

¯ Phineas and Anadine Kosloski, children of Trisha Kosloski

¯ Charlie Miller, friend of Gary Bauer

Deena Kosloski made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Wayne Kosloski; motion carried.

Jimmy Schepke led the group in prayer prior to an enjoyable potluck picnic.

Door Prizes — Door prize tickets were given to each attendee when they paid their dues. The following people won gift baskets: Jon Reincke, Trisha Kosloski, Corine, Carson and Karen Martin, and Adrea Gardner.

Dues and Attendance — Dues were collected ($5 for a single or $10 for a family; over 80 is free); there were 106 people in attendance.

White Elephant Auction, 50/50 raffle, raffle prizes, games —

¯ Auctioneer Steve Kosloski ran a successful auction, raising $254.

¯ A liquor basket was raffled off, raising $260, with Pat Kubbe winning the basket.

¯ A 50/50 raffle raised $148.

Games were played and enjoyed, with Shelley Gardner’s family leading a fun time. A Euchre tournament was also held.
