TBAC Gallery to celebrate 8th anniversary at Art Walk Friday

Thunder Bay Arts Council Gallery will celebrate its 8th anniversary Friday during the Alpena Art Walk from 5 to 8 p.m.

The gallery, at 127 W. Chisholm St., invites the public to stop in for cake and punch to help celebrate the occasion.

Alpena Art Walks take place every final Friday of the month May through September.

The walks are hosted by the five downtown art galleries — Forty Five North Art Gallery, Art in the Loft, My Glass Wings, Studio Rubedo and Thunder Bay Arts Council Gallery.

Special events taking place this Friday are:

¯ Forty Five North — Meet the artist with pottery artist Deb Burr.

¯ Art in the Loft — Special artist demonstration.

¯ My Glass Wings — Meet the artist with Lynn Beaudoin.

¯ Studio Rubedo — Meet the artist with Brian Schorn; prize drawing for two tickets to Besser Museum.

¯ Thunder Bay Arts Council Gallery — Scarf dyeing/painting with Kay Kline, as well as the cake and punch celebration.

Many downtown businesses extend their hours during the Art Walk, and street performers will be stationed downtown starting at 6 p.m.
