Summer Book Club starts Tuesday

Tuesday is Alpena County Library’s opening day of its summer book club, “A Universe of Stories,” for ages 3 to 12. Today’s activities include:

¯ 10 to 11 a.m. — Intergalactic Magic Show with Jeff Wawrzaszek.

¯ 10 am. to 1 p.m. — Opening day surprises: A new book, popcorn, cotton candy.

Special book club events are planned throughout the summer. A list of all the events is included below.

¯ This Friday — 1 to 2 p.m., Kate Carpenter with music and puppets.

¯ July 2 — Special fun day, 10 a.m. to noon.

¯ July 9 — Ventriloquist Richard Paul, 10 to 11 a.m.

¯ July 11 — 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Paxton Quarry.

¯ July 16 — Stephens Puppets, 10 to 11 a.m.

¯ July 18 — Besser Museum, 10 a.m. to noon.

¯ July 23 — Special fun day from 10 a.m. to noon.

¯July 30 — Baffling Bill magic, 10 to 11 a.m.

¯Aug. 1 — Mat Emerick clowning/juggling, 10 to 11 a.m.

¯ Aug. 7 — Carnival Day at Aplex, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
