Bird watching at Partridge Point

Thunder Bay Audubon Society is hosting three evening birding sessions at Patridge Point starting Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Following sessions will be at the same time on the next two Wednesdays, May 15 and 22.

The public is welcome to join in as members of the audubon society lead groups on walking trails through diverse habitat, including a point jetting out into the edges of Lake Huron.

Each week, the species of birds seen will change as spring migration occurs.

This free event is open to all ages, from beginning to advance birders. Families are welcome, but pets are not. The presence of pets could disrupt the environment and could startle birds.

Bug repellent and sturdy footwear are recommended as terrain at times will be wet and uneven.

Bring binoculars and a camera if available. Extra binoculars will be on hand. This event is weather dependent.

Watch for parking off South Partridge Point Road. Look for the blue Thunder Bay Audubon sign and car flags.

For more information, call Thunder Bay Audubon Society President Karen Tetzlaff at 989-340-0129.
