Katie Homant and Anthony Bouwhuis of Traverse City announce their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Ed and Deb Homant of Alpena. The future groom is the son of Kevin and Karen Bouwhuis of Grand Rapids.

Katie is a 2012 graduate of Michigan State University and is currently employed as a fourth grade teacher in Kalkaska. Anthony is a 2013 graduate of MSU and a 2016 graduate of Eastern Michigan University. He is currently completing his residency in Orthotics and Prosthetics at Teter in Traverse City.

The couple will exchange their vows on Aug. 5, 2017, in Traverse City on the Old Mission Peninsula.
