Harper, Frederick lead Paradise to win

NEGAUNEE — Jessica Harper homered and went 4 for 4 and teammate Rachel Frederick hit a triple and also went 4 for 4 to lead Paradise to a narrow 16-15 victory over QCPFC in Class C of the Iron Range Women’s Softball League on July 12.
Winning pitcher Jodi Hemmila struck out 10 as Bertucci Construction felled U.P. Fabricating 15-7. UPF’s Rachael Mager was 3 for 3 with a triple.
Brianna Lynch and Stephanie Perry each homered as River Rock Lanes scored a 26-9 win over Venice 2. Lynch and teammate Brooke LeClair both went 4 for 4, while Venice’s Mara Couch and Kristen Utzman each went 4 for 4 with a homer.
Miranda Cobb cracked two homers and Beckey Grove went 3 for 4 to lead Willey’s Tire Shop past Marquette Embroidery 13-7. The Embroiderers’ Shauna Annala was 3 for 3 and Kim Larson tripled.
Chelsea Roberts cranked two homers, Ann Herman went 4 for 4 and Jillian Robinson tripled to lead AAA Insurance past Wooden Nickel 23-5. Nickel’s Karen Wiegand was 3 for 3 and Kathy Zyble 2 for 2 with a double.
Kera Williams and Cheryl Churack each went 4 for 4 including a double in U.P. Health Plan’s 14-9 win over Jack’s TeePee 2. For Jack’s, Chantel Fernandes homered and Jolene Rosales tripled.
In Class A, Bethy Williams homered and Amanda Harlock tripled to lead Jubilee Foods past Sister’s 11-7. Sister’s Ashley Nylander had three hits and Leah Dompierre hit a triple.
Taylor Ring, Courtney Finkbeiner and Lauren Anderson each went 6 for 6 and Ring also scored six runs in Screened Image’s big 32-13 win over Crossfit 906. Crossfit’s Kim Koski went 5 for 5 and Bree Ranta was 4 for 5.
Molly Wales, Nicolette Schultz and Nicole Gustafson all powered over-the-fence homers to lead Cognition Brewing Co. to a 19-4 win over Honkala Construction.
Wales also went 4 for 4, while Honkala’s Carla Honkala was 3 for 3.
Cassy Sandberg went 4 for 4 with a triple and Chelsie Wealton homered as Venice 1 downed Jasper Ridge Brewery 13-6. Jasper’s Erika Bjorne, who tripled, and Amber Emanuelson both had three hits.
Sara Polini and Shannon Clemo each went 4 for 4 to lead Buck’s Party Store past Martin Sports 26-2. Martin’s Joanna Smail was 2 for 2.
In Class B, Kennan Marana was 3 for 3 with a triple and Ally Solander knocked in the winning run in Buster’s 20-19 nailbiter over Quality Car Care. Quality’s Lori Revord, who tripled, and Connie Kontio each were 3 for 3.
Bethy Finnila had two hits including a triple and Cari Halbersma also had two hits with a double as Signs Unlimited produced a 16-8 win over Venice 3. Venice’s Jen Laurila hit two doubles and Katy VanBuren one double.
Katie Rankinen hit a pair of homers to lead Tino’s to a 22-4 win over Eagles. The winners’ Josey Moyle went 4 for 4, Kassy Carlson and Hannah Salmi each 3 for 3 and Rankinen 3 for 4.
Tera Bell, Loretta Willey and Casey Dugan all homered as Yooper Shirts gained a 28-1 win over Jack’s TeePee 1.
Nicki Frisk went 3 for 3 with a triple as Pasquali’s posted a defensive-oriented 4-2 victory over Dave’s Collision.
