Alpena Lions Club hears program on film festival

Stephanie Gandulla, NOAA’s maritime archeologist and media coordinator, reviewed the upcoming Thunder Bay International Film Festival for the Alpena Lions Club at last week’s meeting.

The festival showcases both ocean and Great Lakes films and is produced in association with the San Francisco International Ocean Film Festival.

Gandulla announced that this is the fifth year for the international festival in Alpena at the NOAA Maritime Heritage Center, and that this year the festival will cover nine days – Jan. 20-29. It will also for the first time be presented briefly in Alcona and Presque Isle counties.

For times and places of all events, people should read upcoming ads in the Alpena News, review the numerous posters displayed in the area or go to the Thunder Bay Friends website.

Gandulla then screened for the Lions about a half dozen film previews and one complete brief film. Steve Murch was program chair for the meeting.
