Vikings top Au Gres

AU GRES — The Posen baseball team traveled to Au Gres on Wednesday and took one game from the Wolverines, winning by a score of 8-4.

Both teams were tied 4-4 after five innings in the nightcap and the game was called due to darkness.

George Kroll started the opener for Posen (3-4) and pitched six innings and struck out four batters.

Offensivley, the Vikings were led by Mark Wisniewski and Jared Sharpe who each had three hits apiece in the win. Dylan Schuch collected two RBI and Wisniewski drove in a run.

Trevor Jamroz got hit with loss as he went 5 2/3 innings and struck out eight batters.

Posen fell behind 2-1 after one inning and tied the game at two with a run in the top of the second. The Vikings scored three runs in the top of third, but surrendered two more in the home half of the third. Leading by a run, Posen answered with two more runs in the fourth to take back its three run lead and they scored one more in the sixth and held on for an 8-4 win.
