Despite being forced to hold a majority of practices indoors and having the season delayed, the Alpena High track and field team was finally able to get out and compete at home on Wednesday.

The conditions were far from great, but the Wildcats turned in a stellar effort in the home opener as they swept their Big North Conference rival, Traverse City Central.
