Vikings defeated by Pickford on the road

PICKFORD–The Posen girls basketball team played hard, but couldn’t get past Pickford on Thursday, falling to the Panthers 44-36.

Pickford jumped out to a 20-8 lead to open the contest, but the Vikings (1-1) clawed back to make it 26-22 at halftime. Posen kept things close for awhile in the second half before the Panthers pulled away.

“We fell behind a couple of times by double digits and we couldn’t hit shots late,” Posen coach Karl Momrik said. “Pickford is a strong team and I was pleased with how we played. Pickford’s a tough team.”

Brooke Ciarkowski led Posen with 13 points, Riley Krajniak added nine and Cami LaTulip chipped in with eight.

Posen’s JV team topped Pickford 27-25.

Posen will host Hillman tonight.
