The Alpena FC Boys Travel U12 team played two games in Petoskey over the weekend.

Game 1 against Charlevoix ended in a 2-2 tie as Alpena took an early lead on first half goals by Gabe Glawe and Garrett Hamp. Charlevoix was able to fight back in the second half leveling the score.

In Game 2, Alpena was able to defeat Grayling 5-2. A first half hat trick by Glawe found Alpena in the lead 3-2 at half, but Grayling’s keeper was able to stop multiple shots until Preston Schuldt and Hamp were able to bury goals late in the game to secure the win.

Alpena moved the ball well and outshot its opponents by a very large margin, but struggled to finish. Jared Johnson, Jimmy Henski, Keller Skiba, Jack Supiran, Harrison Kaszubowski and Finn Williams all put in solid midfield efforts creating the offense and Myles Williams, Kaleb Werth and Julian Stevens, locked down the defense. Micheal Kreis and Schuldt split time in goal.
