“We were pretty steady at the tournament and we were competitive with a couple Class A schools which was nice to see,” Onaway coach Steve Watson said. “We limited our errors against Inland Lakes and had good ball control. We’re looking forward to what should be a good match against Forest Area in our next contest.”
Onaway improves to 2-0 overall in conference play and will have its most important game to date when the Cardinals travel to Forest Area on Tuesday. The past several years the Ski-Valley winner has been undefeated and has came down to Onaway and Forest Area.
The Cardinals come in ranked eighth in the state and are looking to avenge last season’s five set lost to Forest Area who is ranked seventh in the state.
