Alcona edged by Ogemaw Heights

WEST BRANCH–The Alcona soccer team fell short of victory on Monday, losing to Ogemaw Heights 3-2.

Jordan Steiner scored twice for the Tigers (8-6-2) and Conner McCoy made 18 saves in the loss.

McCoy needs three saves to break the Michigan state career saves record and national career saves record. Both are held by Corky Hickmott, who played at Montrose from 2004-07.

He’ll likely break the record when the Tigers host Oscoda on Wednesday. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
