19th Hole advances to women’s softball championship game

The 19th Hole rallied from an early deficit against Chiefs to win 12-5 and to earn a spot in tonight’s championship game at 6:30 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus field.

Chiefs went up 2-1 in the first inning, but a 5-1 inning by 19th Hole put them up 6-2. The score remained the same after three, but 19th Hole tacked on four more in the fourth to pull into a tough 10-2 lead.

Chiefs rallied slightly in the fifth to narrow the spread to 11-4 and both teams tacked on one run in the sixth for the 12-5 final.

Kelli Stevens led 19th Hole by scoring three runs after doubling and tripling. Leah Ventimiglia doubled, walked and scored one time each while Alissa Smith doubled and scored twice. Ellie Walker earned a hit while walking once while Anna Hilla walked twice and scored once.

Jen Lozen doubled and walked twice to earn two runs. Erin Riopelle, Carrie Woloszyk and Mary Newhouse each singled and scored.

For Chiefs, Lisa Kelly scored twice off a single. Tina Wilson scattered two and scored a run while Megan Kruse singled and scored. Danielle Kuznicki contributed one hit.
