I'm writing in support of Amerber G's comment regarding the poll detail that recently appeared in your paper dated 3/27. I pay little heed to the people who have answered "yes" to the question posted in this poll. As Amber has said, these respondees, most likely, were "Republicans fantasizing that this could possibly happen." Of greater concern is the fact that this ridiculous poll ever appeared in the Alpena News to begin with. Whoever sanctioned its publication ought to be working for the 'tabloid of idiocrity'. --Jfairch

It really surprised and disappointed me that the majority of people who have voted so far chose "yes" in answer to this question. OK, Michigan Democratic decision makers jumped the gun on the primary--but, how does that alter the overall principles and reasons behind why a person would choose to vote for one candidate or the other in the general election? Who would really be "punished"? If someone casts a vote out of vindictiveness against the candidate they would have otherwise supported, it seems they would only punish themselves. I can only imagine and hope that the people who answered "yes" to this question are Republicans fantasizing that this could possibly happen. I would simply ask them--if the situation were reversed--would you "punish" your candidate? Doubtful. Because it doesn't make sense. --Amber G.
