Letters To Ed :-)

"We've been duped by the Republicans. Kentucky Sen. and minority leader Mitch McConnell in a news conference one day after the election, stated that the single and sole goal of the GOP over the next two years is: to make Barack Obama a single term president. What an arrogant and obnoxious goal and statement. There agenda before the election was to get votes by promising that there first goals were jobs, the economy and health care reform. It seems their goal is to grab power, not to do things for the people that are in need of jobs and or unemployment pay, health care for those that don't have it, and the people losing their homes. This is the same party that wanted the auto plants and their suppliers to go out of business. We are just coming back from what they did to this country, and now we have them back to do the same things to our country again. What a mess the next two years is going to bring to this country. Talk about partisanship." Carl D. Leow Rogers Cit

You might want to read the constitution jaxspp.

I think congress can walk an chew gum at the same time.

Your CLASSIC argument against any position is a flat EITHER / OR.

Ask to ease an environmental regulation and you holler "THEY WANT TO ELIMINATE THE EPA!!!..."

Give me a break. Checks and balances REQUIRE oversight and investigation. Good grief, good grief.

Hmmm. Democratic senators prodding IRS to step up the investigations on conservative groups.

You have to be kidding me Schumer,

"..Parroting Andrew Cuomo and Bill De Blasio, Schumer called the Conservatives and the Tea Party “extremists” and renewed calls for targeting against them to advance their statist agenda:

“It is clear that we will not pass anything legislatively as long as the House of Representatives is in Republican control, but there are many things that can be done administratively by the IRS and other government agencies — we must redouble those efforts immediately,” Schumer said.

The last time he insisted on this, the IRS targeted Conservatives, targeting which has gone unpunished. In fact, the IRS is planning to make it illegal for Tea Party Conservatives to ever get tax-exempt status.

In 2010 and again in 2012, Democrats told the IRS to investigate the Tea Party..."

Funny thing is the main purpose of Congress used to be to pass legislation. Obviously with the woeful record of the GOP House that purpose has gone by the wayside. Now Free feels the main purpose of Congress is investigations.

“For more than a year, we have watched Republicans desperately and obsessively search for a scandal, which has not appeared. It is time to move forward,” Rep. Adam Smith (Wash.), the committee’s senior Democrat, and Rep. Niki Tsongas (Mass.), the ranking Democrat on the committee’s oversight and investigations panel, said in a statement."

Yes, Free, because there is no in-between between getting rid of Congress and having perpetual GOP investigations. But thanks for laying out the GOP campaign plans.

Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi and lastly, Benghazi.

Sorry about 3 of your candidates biting the dust recently, Cruz, Paul, and Christie.

If you care to be informed, read the full article in the Nation magazine. Leadership from Germany and a good deal for the rapidly disappearing middle class.

So much for 'free market' Capitalism folks. Yes, the GOP, of the freedom of private business, is interfering in the FREE MARKET exercise between VW and it's workers to effect a deal to have the UAW represent the workers, a system that both the workers and VW agree on. Senator Bob Corker is even threatening action to make the whole event difficult. Come on you 'conservatives' you have some 'splaining to do. Spin it for us, and no meaningless rhetoric. Pathetic.

For your amusement...Chris Christie says "George W. Bush was grossly underappreciated". Christie knows something about 'gross'.

Well Freeman let me see you go all Benghazi on this…

Israel attacked the USS Liberty using UNMARKED AIRCRAFT. This is the single fact which proves Israel knew exactly who they were attacking. Israel's story is that they thought USS Liberty was an Egyptian ship and therefore a legitimate target of war. Were that true, there would be no reason to attack a supposedly Egyptian ship with unmarked aircraft. The only possible reason to use unmarked aircraft to attack the ship is that Israel knew it was an American ship and intended to sink it, then to blame the attack on Egypt.

Freeman speaks funny, out of one side of his mouth he says that government lies, then out of the other he quotes from the House Armed Services Committee website as truth.

Just a few months ago, Senator John McCain had a photo taken of him shaking hands with leaders of the terrorist organizations inside Syria.

This just like all the Republicans they support terrorism behind our back while lying to our face that we are fighting them.

I think that they enjoy killing women and children, what a bunch of sickos.

"...the report DEBUNKS ENTIRELY a right wing myth that the White House ordered the military not to intervene...."

So you have a government that can't find it's backside with both hands and lies about it and you're biggest "victory" is finding evidence that proves their incompetence.

Wow, have we set the bar low.

In short, normanlake, the administration has been lying to cover up their absolute failure.

"Al-Qaeda is on the run", "..if you like your plan..", "...caused by a vile video...", "..not a smidgeon of corruption at the IRS".

OK normy and jax. You get the government you deserve.

VI. The Department of Defense is working to correct many weaknesses revealed by the Benghazi attack, but the global security situation is still deteriorating and military resources continue to decline.

An open house and a community meeting are being held in Oscoda Wednesday, to talk about the “do not eat” fish advisory issued in May, 2012 for Clark’s Marsh, near the former Wurtsmith Air Force Base. The Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) is hosting the meetings and will also discuss a recommendation that people not eat fish that live year-round in the lower Au Sable River, such as perch, bass and panfish.

The health department has determined that levels of perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs) in fish sampled from ponds in Clark’s Marsh are unsafe for human consumption.

If it wasn’t for all these government regulations we could enjoy eatting our poison fish in complete ignorance.

V. The U.S. military’s response to the Benghazi attack was severely degraded because of the location and readiness posture of U.S. forces, and because of lack of clarity about how the terrorist action was unfolding. However, given the uncertainty about the prospective length and scope of the attack, military commanders did not take all possible steps to prepare for a more extended operation.

V. There was no “stand down” order issued to U.S. military personnel in Tripoli who sought to join the fight in Benghazi. However, because official reviews after the attack were not sufficiently comprehensive, there was confusion about the roles and responsibilities of these individuals.
